Foundations

New World Foundation welcomes opportunities to pool resources for greater collective impact. We sometimes partner with other foundations and donors in our grantmaking programs. In some cases, we receive money for re-granting purposes because it makes giving small grants for local work easier. Others have contracted our staff to run entire programs.

New World periodically works with foundation partners to support special projects, such as our Resource Lab and the COIN program. Current partners include, the Ford Foundation, Atlantic Philanthropies, Open Society, NoVo Foundation, and the Panta Rhea Foundation.

New World promotes social justice giving and practices in the community of philanthropy. We share our grantmaking docket with foundation colleagues, make grant recommendations, and frequently advise in program development.

Educational information sharing and issue exploration with our funding colleagues is an ongoing commitment of The New World Foundation. We often organize seminars and workshops on topics like political participation, the changing economy, and nonprofit leadership.

New World Foundation has incubated a number of projects geared towards sharing knowledge of social justice philanthropy. We were founding members of the Social Justice Infrastructure Group, that united more than a dozen national foundations on social change philanthropy, and the Rye Collaborative, where 20 progressive charities work together to raise money and assert greater influence on social justice and election issues.

Please contact New World's President, Colin Greer, if you would like to discuss potential collaborations.
